Drug Substitution Project
Description: The goal of this Project was to reduce the rate of HIV transmission in India related to injecting drug use. The purpose was to build capacity in Nagaland and Manipur for a comprehensive approach to HIV prevention amongst IDUs by introducing drug substitution therapy as an integrated component of the harm reduction services available to IDUs, in the lead up to NACP-III. This Project integrated drug substitution therapy into existing harm reduction services delivered through Project ORCHID NGO partners in Nagaland and Manipur.
