HIV/AIDS Prevention Among Youth
Description: Provision of technical advice to design a $US20 million 5 year HIV/AIDS prevention program with focus on youth and behaviour change communication (BCC) strategies for the Government of Vietnam (GOV). The project involved developing and maintaining relationships with local research and project partners, as well as managing the Project to ensure delivery of outputs within budget. The Project designed formed a key component of the GOV’s 2010–20 National Strategy on HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control. Given the concentration of the epidemic among young people, this Project was the first of its kind and scale with youth as a target aiming at addressing social norms that influence vulnerability and building protective environments to help prevent risk behaviours leading to HIV transmission.
