Monitoring and Advisory Team (MAT): Strengthening Cambodia’s Response to HIV/AIDS
Description: DFID is assisting the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) in its efforts to control HIV/AIDS through the “Strengthening Cambodia’s Response to HIV/AIDS (SCRH)”. The Program supports the RGC’s National Strategic Plan for a Comprehensive and Multi-Sectoral Response to HIV/AIDS (NSP). The Program began in 2003 and aims to contribute to a reduced vulnerability to HIV and improved care and support for People Living with HIV and AIDS (PLHA) through an enhanced government-led and coordinated response to HIV/AIDS in Cambodia. The Executing Agencies of the project are NAA, National Central for HIV/AIDS, Dermatology and STD (NCHADS), of the Ministry of Health, and Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MOEYS) and the NGO BBC World Service Trust. The MAT is established and contracted by DFID to: assess progress and appraise performance; fulfil DFID’s internal monitoring requirements; facilitate strategic decision making; and support and strengthen the effective development of the national monitoring and evaluation framework.
