Tibet Health Sector Support Program
Description: The Project aims to improve the health and well-being of the people of TAR (4 counties under Lhasa municipality) through institutional strengthening of health management and planning, capacity development and advisory support to health agencies. The Project has three components each with its own objective including:
- Health system development: improving the effectiveness of health systems in TAR at the strategic and operational levels
- Primary health care support: improving the effectiveness, quality of and access to integrated rural health services in four counties (Qushui, Linzhou, Damxuan and Nimu)
- HIV/AIDS support: improving the effectiveness of Tibet’s response to HIV/AIDS
AIHI is sub-contracted by Australian Red Cross to provide technical inputs to facilitate the development and institution of the Basic Essential Maternal Newborn Care (EMNC) Training Program for county and township health workers in accordance with the EMNC Plan (2005).
