Scholarships
NOSSAL INSTITUTE POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP
The Nossal Institute Postgraduate Research Scholarship is offered to graduates eligible to be approved as full-time candidates for Masters by research, Doctor of Medicine (excluding MD thesis by publication) or Doctor of Philosophy degrees. The award is for graduates to undertake research in global health-relevant fields of basic science, clinical sciences or public health, at the University of Melbourne or its affiliated institutions. Students may be located within any department or faculty of the university. Students currently enrolled in one of the degrees listed above at the University of Melbourne are eligible to apply.
Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis at $25,000 per annum for up to 3 years, made up of $20,000 for the student, and $5,000 per annum for the host department(s) or institution for consumables and student travel. It is anticipated that up to 75% of the project could be undertaken outside Australia provided adequate supervision or collaborative arrangements can be made. The scholarship may not be held in conjunction with other scholarships.
Overseas applicants would receive a full-fee remission scholarship in association with the Nossal Institute Postgraduate Research Scholarship.
